The Amy Award: MEDIA

SHORT SUMMARY

The International Amy MacRae Award is an annual contest for works of short memoir (max 2000 words).

The winner receives US$1000 cash.

The contest was created in honour of Amy MacRae, who died of ovarian cancer at the age of 35, just weeks before she was shortlisted for the prestigious CBC Award for Nonfiction. Proceeds of this contest are donated to Amy’s Living Legacy in support of ovarian cancer research.

The 2024 contest opens on April 15 and writing submissions are accepted until June 30, 2024. The shortlist and winners will be announced in October 2024.

This year’s judge is the multiple award-winning author Kyo Maclear.
